This week the streaming platform Netflix has released the first season of the Easy Money series (Snabba Cash). A series directed by Jesper Ganslandt and Måns Månsson that is based on the original Swedish novel of 2006 written by Jens Lapidus and that surprises with its portrayal of Stockholm’s criminal underworld. Easy Money plunges, on the one hand, into the wild Swedish world of the startups and businesses and, on the other hand, in the underworld that hides that of crime. Already in 2010, a Snabba cash film was released that adapted the first of the novels of the so-called Stockholm trilogy of Jens Lapidus, which was followed by two sequels. Now, ten years later, this novel has inspired this new Netflix original production . The Swedish series has six chapters and has Lapidus himself among its producers. The plot tells the lives of various characters who inhabit a neighborhood north of Stockholm. Easy Money A Big Dream for a Widow Its protagonist Leya (Evin Ahmad) is a widow and single mother who works as a waitress in a Lebanese restaurant and takes care of her five-year-old son Sami. This woman has a big dream which is to start her startup TargetCoach. Everything in her life is complicated because to achieve this goal Leya has to interact with dangerous criminals. Salim (Alexander Abdallah), a young man who belongs to a drug gang led by Ravy (Dada Fungula Bozela), and Tim (Ali Alarik), a teenager who has entered the underworld, will enter Leya’s life. It becomes an adventure for Leya and her son whose life is filled with debt, trouble, and danger. An interesting thriller that gains each episode in intensity, violence and strength A complex production Easy money is an agile, complex and quite original Swedish series that also surprises for some technical aspects such as its production and the numerous camera movements, tracking shots and zooms. A series that includes actors such as Evin Ahmad, Alexander Abdallah, Ayaan Ahmed, Dada Fungula Bozela and Peter Eggers, among others, a series in which a portrait of the criminal underworld of Stockholm is made and that surprises so much for its aspects technical as in the story that tells. One of the novelties of this April in terms of series that are hooking Netflix users.
