On Friday October 12 and Saturday 13 the most fun and supportive dog event in Mallorca was held: the Animal Fest . The terraces of the Porto Pi shopping center hosted two intense days full of activities in which the protagonists were pets, more specifically dogs. The 1500 people who attended the event enjoyed spectacular disc dog exhibitions at the hands of Paco Lobo, European Champion, Dog Frisbee Mallorca and Paco Nanuk . Incredible the jumps that the dogs made to catch the disc between their teeth!
Animal Fest hosted a very special cooking workshop and we learned to prepare delicious cookies with which the furry ones will lick their lips with pleasure . Yum! We also enjoyed a dog grooming parade with Santi Sarriá, Best Dog Groomer in Spain 2018, and Xisca Martorell de Dogma and a canine fashion show .
At Animal Fest there was no lack of interesting educational talks on canine psychology and responsible ownership, courtesy of the Balearic Canine Psychology Center in addition to obedience workshops (parade of Grupo Maxis K9 included) and luring .
Solidarity was also present at the festival. Solidarity with those animals that have not had an easy life and that hope, day by day, to be adopted by a family that loves and cares for them. In this sense, there was a parade of dogs for adoption organized by the Llucmajor Animalist Association and another by the Peluditos de Son Reus Association. In addition, anyone who wanted could collaborate with the associations present at the event.
An animal party designed also for the little ones
The little ones had a great time at Animal Fest. First with the performance of Pocoyo and Conecta Kids and then with music, children’s workshops , such as the one on badges, organized by Pequepaginas, storytelling by Viatje al Món de n’Aina and Conte Contat and the hilarious dynamization by Carlos Rodríguez and Beatriz Ramos .
