The Seat Ibiza accompanies the youngest since its launch in 1984. That first generation, with a square body, featherweight and tiny wheels, has nothing to do with the fifth, and last (for now), batch of Spanish utility vehicles.
This B-segment bestseller was updated in 2017, the year in which it lost the three-door body and its strange family variant. It was the first Volkswagen group model to be built on the modular MQB A0 platform also used by its cousins Audi A1 and Volkswagen Polo. Three years later, Seat increases the appeal of the Ibiza for the most passionate public, equipping it with the 1.5 TSI 150 hp gasoline engine and the 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
This combination is not only the most powerful, it also introduces the DSG 7 dual-clutch transmission, key to improving your comfort on the move and offering a simple but performance-oriented drive. The 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 150 hp (110 kW) of power between 5,000 and 6,000 revolutions per minute, providing maximum torque of 250 Nm between 1,500 and 3,500 revolutions . The data speak of an elastic motor, with a continuous and intense power delivery throughout the lap counter. An engine consecrated in the Volkswagen group and that will meet the expectations of the most purist drivers of the Ibiza, with the exception of the automatic transmission.
A perfect balance
This engine will allow the Seat Ibiza to reach a maximum speed of 219 km / h and sign an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in just 8.2 seconds . Speed, as we well know, could not be reached on our roads either, but acceleration is key to moving with agility through urban traffic. In addition, with the automatic transmission we will avoid having to change gear during a retention. The DSG has been accompanying the most avant-garde launches of Volkswagen for years, so we know very well the smoothness and speed between transitions , a key aspect when moving through interurban roads or secondary roads.
The new combination does not seek meaningless power, nothing is further from the truth. The use of this block, together with the automatic transmission, aims to improve performance but also efficiency. This Seat Ibiza 150 CV DSG 7 approves an average consumption between 5.6 and 6.4 liters per 100 kilometers in the WLTP cycle, with emissions of 128 to 147 grams of CO2 per kilometer .
The Seat Ibiza 1.5 TSI 150 hp DSG is available with the FR sport trim and a starting price of 24,930 euros . If we opt for more equipment, we can choose the special FR GO version with navigation system, 8-inch screen, Seat Connect application, parking sensors, rear view cameras and connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for 25,340 euros .
