In 2017 the Peugeot 3008 won the award for Best Car of the Year in Europe (COTY) . It was the key moment for SUV models, there was no talk of anything else. No one doubted the arguments that led the jury to vote for him and the market seemed to be on the same page. Three years have passed and, after selling more than 800,000 units, it was time to slightly renew the 3008 . The touches had to maintain an almost perfect formula between elegance, modernity and family character. An equation that has worked for him so far and that his restyling could not ignore. We are, then, before a new but not revolutionary model. Its aesthetic changes focus on the front, the light clusters, the technological equipment and the driving assistance systems.
The new Peugeot 3008 will be recognizable at a glance thanks to its imposing grille, which integrates the headlights and side plastics. The images provided by the brand are of GT and GT Pack versions, so the grill has a rather sporty and premium pattern. The designers’ effort seems to have ended here. We did not notice changes in the side or rear view, except for the new body colors Celebes blue and Vertigo . The pilots sport a slightly sharper light signature and Full LED, which is also dynamic for the indicators. Little more in terms of the exterior, a conservative dynamic that we also see in its cabin.
Inside we see a 10-inch infotainment screen, which will continue to be combined with the 12.3-inch digital instrumentation . The configuration of the cabin maintains the Peugeot i-Cockpit system but with the introduction of the 3D images that the Peugeot e-208 premiered. The most interesting, in the technological section, is the night vision system. A solution that will detect, through the use of infrared, animals or possible obstacles during night driving or with reduced visibility. The commercial offering remains unchanged, with thermal options and the Hybrid4 300 e-EAT8 and Hybrid 225 e-EAT8 plug-in hybrid variants, with up to 50 kilometers of 100% electric range.
