Audi launched into a completely new segment with the launch of the first generation of the Q3. In this new breed of familiar but compact SUVs, the range adopted a more elegant and sensual body called the Sportback . This coupe silhouette is undoubtedly a step forward in terms of design, creating a more dynamic and sporty figure. With that variant on the table, the most anticipated member of driving enthusiasts was yet to arrive: its RS variants. Those two letters are synonymous with character, potential, and emotion. They are the acronyms that identify the most racing Audi models developed from the Audi Sport GmbH department. They never leave anyone indifferent and the new Audi RS Q3 and Q3 Sportback … neither will they.
Both vehicles share specific details with the rest of the RS family. The Singleframe grille , in a honeycomb design and in gloss black, is one of its hallmarks, along with the exclusive bumper with larger air intakes and widened wheel arches. Despite being SUVs, the Audi RS Q3 and Q3 Sportback have the body closer to the ground (45 millimeters) , a detail difficult to notice at first glance but essential at the wheel. At its rear, the two large oval exhaust outlets on the sides stand out.
The Audi RS Q3 and Q3 Sportback should be sporty but versatile, usable during the day to day and on a gas day in mountain passes. To meet those expectations, Audi has fitted a 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder block that yields 400 hp and reaches a maximum torque of 480 Nm . All this with an average consumption of 10.2 to 9.8 liters per hundred (WLTP cycle) , an excessive expense for many but logical for a beast of such benefits. Nor have they skimped on the cycle section, providing it with an RS sports suspension that can incorporate dynamic control that counteracts the roll between curves. These variants are the flagship of Audi and for that reason they do not lack a security system. We explain more about these Audi RS Q3 and Q3 Sportback in the gallery.
