Grover's Tea for Kids Grosvenor House Hotel

Grosvenor House Hotel is one of London’s most respected five-star hotels. Afternoon tea is served in The Park Room & Library, which has the feel of a British manor house overlooking Park Lane and Hyde Park.

Grosvenor House Hotel offers a traditional afternoon tea for the grown-ups with a three-tier silver cake stand and everything you would expect. And children can choose something different but still very special.

Grover’s Tea includes a tropical fruit salad, ice cream and cookies, plus miniature cakes. To make them feel ripe, there’s also a sparkling elderflower lemonade to drink. Ice cream comes in a variety of flavors (chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry) and is a generous help.

But why Grover’s tea? The reason is that this young man’s delicious tea is named after the Groo, the hotel’s own British Bulldog. And what kid wouldn’t love his own Grover to take home? This special afternoon tea includes a small soft toy version of Grover for every child to have.

Afternoon tea information

Lugar: Park Room, Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel.

The Park Room continues the hotel’s tradition of understated elegance. The most popular tables are the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Hyde Park, but keep in mind that they are all tables for two.

Since the windows are not next to the pavement, you don’t feel like you are in a “gold fish.” You see more traffic than pedestrians, but most passersby smiled when they saw our beautiful table and this made us feel special.

The Park Room is bathed in natural light and is an excellent setting for afternoon tea throughout the year.

Although afternoon tea is served starting at 2pm, it is more popular after 3pm. The room has a relaxed vibe even with the buzzing as it fills up.

Dress Code: There is no dress code as such, but it’s always good to make an effort.

Grover’s Tea Review

I took my 9 year old daughter to try Grover’s Tea and enjoyed the traditional Anna’s Tea.

We were both impressed with the place and the welcome, and we were lucky enough to get a window seat so we could look out over Hyde Park.

When my tea order was taken, my daughter chose her ice cream flavor and then we saw the bees in the flowers outside on Park Lane.

There is a pianist playing in the room who adds wonderful background music to allow everyone to feel comfortable chatting. There were some birthdays in the room when we visited and the pianist played ‘Happy Birthday’. Every time the whole room stopped and clapped, which I found a lovely touch. It really felt like a happy atmosphere in the room.

Before our teas, we both enjoyed a complimentary fruit that included mango, pineapple, and passion fruit, and it was delicious.

While I started with my sandwiches, my daughter was delighted with her ice cream and tropical fruit salad. And while I enjoyed the cakes, so did my daughter.

I shared a couple of smoked salmon sandwiches with my daughter as she couldn’t resist them, but she had enough to eat with Grover’s tea and was too full to finish it all.

We both really enjoyed our visit to The Park Room and would recommend it to families as it feels classy yet relaxed.
