As the third largest city in Sweden, Malmo has a lot to offer when it comes to nightlife and is one of the most gay-friendly cities in Europe. Since Malmo has a very high residential density and is known as a short distance city, most of the clubs and bars are located close to each other, making it very easy to try several of them in the same night. Below you’ll find our top five picks for gay bars and clubs in Malmo.
Wonk
Our first choice is Wonk, probably the most famous of Malmo’s mixed gay clubs. It is also one of the largest, with 3 dance floors, 3 bars, and a karaoke room. To be allowed, you must be at least 20 years old. Every Saturday this nightclub hosts the biggest (and some would say the best) gay party in Malmo. Not to be missed. Wonk is located at Amiralsgatan 23, Malmo.
Moulin Cabaret
If you are looking for the best drag show in town, you must visit the Cabaret Moulin at the Tango Palace in Malmo. Usually Cabaret Moulin puts on a show once a month. The three hosts of the Cabaret Moulin, Carina de Soleil, Babushka and Elecktra often interact with the public and make sure you have a great time. Cabaret Moulin is hands down the best place in Malmo if you are looking for a drag show, so be sure to give it a try.
Bee Kitchen & Bar
Another gay-friendly restaurant and bar in Malmo is Bee Kök & Bar. Initially, it was only available in Gothenburg (Sweden’s second largest city) and is known there as the best “straight” gay bar in town. Bee Kök & Bar recently opened in Malmo and is very easy to recommend. Located in the center of Malmö, the Bee Kök & Bar offers good food and drink and an outdoor seating area, in case you want to admire the view. The best part of the Bee Kök & Bar is that at night it turns into a straight gay bar so you can enjoy the joys of Malmo’s nightlife without leaving the bar.
