Nobody knows your secret. You’ve been hiding it for years and building a reputation to make yourself respected. The tough guy from school, the one who’s not afraid of anything, the coolest guy in the neighborhood, the one who plays any hardcore game with just one hand and on a killer level, the one who has the courage to stand up the hottest aunt from the neighborhood to go play the ‘Halo’ … so much effort for nothing. Your alibi is shattered when your best friend storms into the room and stares at you in horror shortly before bursting into tears.
You are giving it your all and playing your favorite game, ‘Singstar Miliki’ . Thus, without anesthesia, in the canal, roughly, in the Bruce Willis plan. Your friend continues to recover from the patatus, the vision he had of you has changed forever and you will have to explain it to him. And it is that seeing the tough guy from school singing La Gallina Turuleca is something similar to a UFO sighting, very very strong. Never underestimate the power of a clown, it could rip your heart out without losing your smile and you wouldn’t even realize it. Welcome to the ‘Singstar Miliki’ review.
Miliki is back, baby

Let me put good old Miliki a bit. One of those clowns on television who has been creating functions and shows for the little ones for years and years. A kind of ideal grandfather with whom, curiously, many of us have grown up. His themes, and by extension those of the Aragón family, are burned into our retina and it is inevitable to know most of the lyrics.
It is also something that one cannot avoid. No one can freely choose to be a follower or fanboy (which there will also be) of Miliki, we all are, period. Years of television programs, years of humming their songs on birthdays, parties, drunkenness … Miliki is one of the greats of Spanish culture and no other gesture than a smile is remembered for him. A crack, come on.
But a crack who is already over seventy years old and who has been worrying, for some time now, to update his legacy, to bring to today’s children all the songs with which we and our parents grew up. Perhaps that is the reason for updating the iconography of the great clown and making him debut in the world of electronic entertainment.
Miliki leaves the DVS’s with concerts in the same way that in his day he left the radio cassette to go to CD and burst into the world of video games with ‘Singstar Miliki’.
Emotional and horny … but by product
That said, it should be clear that we are dealing with a by-product. Or rather, a cheap and quick-consumption product that, nevertheless, will delight the public for whom it is intended. And leaving aside technical virtuosity, the most important thing a video game can have is based on achieving that empathy with the gamer.

We will not have more than a Singstar of the ancients, we are talking about PS2, inflated to songs of the artist in question. But of course, that’s what it’s about.
It is about appealing to those of us who grew up with ‘The walnut shell boat’, ‘The turuleca chicken’, ‘Susanita’, ‘Hello Don Pepito’ or ‘How are you? Authentic songs that in their day, and I speak of many years ago, we enjoyed as dwarves that we were for that.
There are 25 songs that we will get to achieve throughout the game and there are all their successes. All seasoned with some nice representations of what happens in the song or, in the best of cases, a video of the real Miliki interpreting them. But attention friends, the thing does not end here and the fact is that the educational clown has also been modeled in three dimensions and with a very cartoon aesthetic he will accompany us for more than one song, as is the case with ‘Chinito de Amor’. A real hit that will delight the little ones, will make our mothers and grandparents cry for the memory and will leave us with a hallucinatory face that Kojima would pay to achieve.
And, this is not a joke, the game achieves something that other ‘Singstars’ do not achieve and is to hook with any song. Of course, here everyone knows them whether they are aware of it or not, and when they stand before the microphone, the lyrics and the intonation come out alone. It is the ideal complement for a crazy party in a house on the beach in Malibu, the kind that Americans have.
So is it worth it?

In short, it cannot be valued for its visual contribution, beyond modeling a Miliki in 3D who is quite competent, but it can be valued for its emotional charge and its ability to entertain. Real children are going to have a great time and those of us who still carry a child inside, in the right circumstances, too. So what more could you ask for?
Well, perhaps a somewhat lower price since almost 40 euros for a game with such a fair finish on a technical level seems too much to me, and that is that although it incorporates two controls, 25 songs are few (although the fact of being a DVD excuses them in certain way).
Of course, there is a version that is accompanied by another special DVD starring Miliki but I have not had the courage to cross that barrier, lest I like it as Alex usually does and of course, with an ultrasur of Miliki in the team of editors there is enough.
If they release a second part, let’s hope they dare with songs like ‘Mikili’s Ghostbusters’, ‘En Cinemascope’, ‘Eating is a pleasure’ or ‘Las Capitales’.
Recommended for fans of yesterday, those who have no complex and assume that Miliki is as cool as Bruce Willis or more … and of course for children.
Not recommended for the unfortunate who have not yet been able to learn the table of four, when everyone knows that “the dog has four legs, the camel and the calf, four legs the wolf, the lamb and the wild boar, four legs a chair, a bed and the nightstand …. “
