I think it is a good time to go back to reviewing the best-selling games in our country after, for some reasons or others, we skipped the month of June.
Before my colleague Txema dealt with these issues, but since he has left the blog and I think it is interesting to take a look at these figures, today I will resume his work. I do not know if I will take care of this section myself in the future or we will rotate all the editors, but for now I am here.
Apart from the data for July, I have included the general ranking for June, so at least we can have a global vision of what happened that month. I think this is better than including sales for all platforms in both months, since there would be an endless post. Here we go, then.
Overall ranking July 2009
1. WIISPORTSRESORT + WIIMOTIONPLUS (WII)
2. LOSSIMS 3 (WINDOWS)
3. WIIFIT + BALANCEBOARD (WII)
4. MARIOKART + WIIWHEEL (WII)
5. WIIPLAY (WII)
6. EL PROFESORLAYTON Y LA VILLAMISTERIOSA (NINTENDO DS)
7. POKEMONPLATINO (NINTENDO DS)
8. ACTIVEPERSONALTRAINER + CINTAS (WII)
9. PROEVOLUTIONSOCCER 2009 PLATINUM (PS2)
10. CALL OF JUAREZ: BOUND IN BLOOD (PS3)
I think the ranking speaks for itself: absolute dominance of Nintendo consoles, which occupy 7 of the 10 positions of the best sellers during the past month. To highlight the entry of ‘Wii Sports Resort’ with its Wii Motion Plus , which has conquered the hearts of many consumers judging by that first place. The only title capable of overshadowing the Wii in the top five is ‘The Sims 3’ for PC.
It should also be noted the total absence of titles for XBox 360 and the timid appearance of Sony that pokes its nose a couple of times, in one of them with a title for PS2. It is brutal to see how ‘Wii Fit’ and ‘Mario Kart’ continue to achieve good figures after having been on the market for some time.
Let’s go through the lists by platform.
