The brain of a gorilla in the Bronx Zoo in New York has been explored for the first time using a mobile computer magnetic esonancia r nu clear (RMN).
Fubo , a 42-year-old male gorilla who had recently suffered a stroke, remained sedated for the two-hour procedure. The images were interpreted by a team of researchers from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine , who identified a lesion in the left temporal lobe of the ape's brain. Veterinarians concluded that the problem is not treatable with surgery.
The mobile MRI unit visited New York as part of the national campaign "On the road to early detection" , which aims to promote the "early" diagnosis of brain tumors.
