Living in the Wild West, back in the 19th century, had to be one of the best possible experiences. Yes, it is possible that we died from animal attacks, inopportune infections, or that a drunkard attacked us for no apparent reason, but the freedom that that time offered us was total.
While we are still waiting for the time machine to be manufactured, Red Dead Redemption 2 is our best option to feel that freedom. Now, thanks to modder LukeRoss, we already have the opportunity to control Arthur Morgan in VR.
Luke is not inexperienced in these arts, since he was in charge of creating the VR mod for GTA V, so a job well done is assured. However, that previous work has not been able to translate it into the Rockstar work of 2018, as Red Dead Redemption 2 is much more advanced from a technical point of view . Of course, it can be played in both first and third person.
For this, he has had to work from scratch to make this mod possible. What’s more, six months ago he decided to put aside his main job as a freelance developer and focus on this project . That is why if you want to use the mod you must pay for it on LukeRoss’s Patreon.
His intention is to continue working on development and improving its functions. Among his next projects to transfer to VR format is Cyberpunk 2077, Horizon Zero Dawn or Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. We’ll see which one Luke surprises us with.
