Not long ago, through the Powerbazinga channel, I discovered the existence of Dark Souls: Nightfall , the unofficial sequel to From Software’s first Dark Souls. A mod created by a group of fans eager to continue the fascinating story lived in Lordran that brought so many joys (and suffering) to us in its day.
Grimrukh, one of the people responsible, had previously worked on other Dark Souls mods, such as Daughters of Ash or Roguelike Souls. But none of the scale of this new project that promises to revolutionize the formula of the 2011 classic with a touch of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.
And it is that on the one hand both the engine and the assets of Dark Souls are used , even seeing that its story starts a few minutes before the fight against Gwyn, but on the other hand different layers of depth are added to its mechanics, from a frantic dash in dark mode to time travel . All this with a completely new story and with parts of the map never seen (mostly reused from those that were already created, in any case).
There will be no shortage of newly minted characters and bosses and secondary missions that will give more weight to an extremely ambitious game that we really want to get our hands on.
