We know that the Covid affects children to a lesser extent, but that of Petru has been one of those exceptional cases in which the virus has seriously affected a minor.
Petru is a baby who had to be admitted to the pediatric ICU of the Vithas 9 de Octubre Hospital in Valencia nine days after being born after contracting coronavirus.
There he remained hospitalized for 70 days fighting for his life, but fortunately, the little one managed to defeat the Covid and today he has been discharged from hospital amid applause and congratulations.
He caught it from his asymptomatic brother
The baby was born healthy but when he went home after delivery, his brother was an asymptomatic carrier of coronavirus, so the little one was infected and his condition began to worsen.
The newborn began to have respiratory problems, as well as difficulty feeding, so due to his young age, he had to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.
For more than two months he has been improving little by little until he fully recovers. From the hospital they assure that "it has been a slow but complete recovery."
Due to the pandemic, parents could only see their baby by video conference until he finally tested negative. Today, 70 days later, Petru and his parents were fired to applause by hospital workers who helped him recover. Hopeful news to start this new year.
