The use of a mask in Spain is mandatory in any situation for all people over six years of age, and it is irresponsible to refuse to wear it, as has been the case of a pregnant woman who arrived at the Toledo Hospital to give birth on August 19. .
The woman arrived at the center during the expulsive period without a mask and, when it was provided, both she and her partner refused to put it on. Their response was aggressive towards the health personnel, whom they verbally attacked and even threatened .
The midwives of the Toledo Hospital reported the violent episode to the hospital management for breach of the Covid-19 security protocol. However, neither she nor her partner agreed to use it.

After the delivery, the mother tested positive for coronavirus , which forced the people who attended her delivery to have had to be quarantined at home , and that the rest of the staff had chosen to undergo diagnostic tests to prevent contagion to their relatives.

The Governing Board and the legal service of the Toledo College of Nursing will attend to each and every one of these complaints, and all pertinent actions will be initiated in defense of the nursing profession and its members.

“We all stopped this pandemic by collaborating and complying with the instructions, recommendations and regulations of the authorities, or, the immense effort that health professionals have made and continue to make, will have been useless; a fact that would be regrettable and of tremendous health, social and economic cost ”.
