When we get pregnant, one of the first pieces of information we know about is the probable due date. However, less than five percent of babies are born on the estimated date, the most common being that they are delayed or a few days early, as happened to Delia, a woman from Barcelona.
But her story would not have any major significance if it weren’t for the fact that she went into labor on the very day that she was supposed to present you for the Barcelona City Council examinations, which she had been preparing for so long. Solution? The Hospital Clinic, where she went to give birth, provided Delia with everything she needed so that she could do her examination in the delivery room , being able to comply with all the measures imposed by the City Council.

The curious anecdote has been shared by the hospital itself on its social networks, and although many have praised the empathic gesture by the hospital in making things easier for Delia so that she would not miss the opportunity to examine herself, there have also been users who have criticized it harshly, alluding that at the time of delivery the woman should be focused on her body and her baby and not on doing an exam.
The truth is that this is not the first time that we echo similar stories . Some time ago we learned the curious story of a woman who went into labor during the driver’s license exam, and that of another who had to finish her Psychology exam in the delivery room, because she did not have time to do it at the University .
Personally, I think that in these cases the woman should be offered the possibility of taking the exam out of date, taking into account the particularities of the moment. But in any case, if the mothers freely decide to go ahead with their plans, it is appreciated that both the hospital and the center where they must be examined, facilitate the task. Hopefully Delia’s baby came into the world with an approved opposition under her arm!
