Amsterdam is likely to attract more marijuana enthusiasts annually than any other city on the planet. The freedom of “coffeeshop-hop” and sampling the variety of high-quality weed and hash the city has to offer is for many an attraction in itself. As if legendary coffee shops and well-equipped workshops weren’t enough, here are some cannabis-related attractions worth a trip for avid smokers.

The Hash, Marijuana and Hemp Museum explores the cultural history and multiple uses of the Cannabis sativa plant. Cannabis is much more than the sum of its parts: hashish and marijuana have well-established recreational and medicinal purposes, while hemp is a versatile “wonder fiber” whose seeds are an excellent source of vital nutrients. This educational museum is also suitable for children, who are allowed free entry.

Barney’s Uptown is, essentially, a restaurant for cannabis smokers – Located across the street from the famous multi-award winning Cannabis Cup Barneys Coffeeshop, Uptown is where diners can smoke a joint, then eat a meal to satisfy your sandwiches. And, unlike coffee shops, alcohol is served.
Cannabis Cup
The Cannabis Cup is the Oscar of marijuana cultivation: since 1987, this annual awards ceremony has honored the best products of the cannabis seed industry every November in Amsterdam. More Copa than formal ceremony, the Copa offers live music, comedy and a cannabis exhibition for participants.
