Audi A3 2020: the unbeatable rival of the Class A and Series 1

There are models that hardly need an introduction. In addition, the compact segment is by far the most competitive on the market. For these reasons and some more, Audi had really difficult to improve the formula of its Audi A3, a car that has been almost perfect for years. Its direct rivals, the BMW 1 Series and the Mercedes-Benz A-Class , do not require prior explanations either. Deciding between these models is really complicated and subjective aspects such as aesthetics, brand loyalty and even the projection that we want to show of ourselves come into play. To make things easier for us, Audi has launched the fourth generation of the A3 with compelling reasons for its choice: the price and consumption. You can get an Audi A3 from 27,770 euros and its approved cost is 5.4 liters per 100 kilometers (WLTP cycle). Even mounting more powerful engines, such as the 150 hp gasoline, the one with the rings is still cheaper than a Series 1 (from 30,000 euros) or a Class A (from 32,000) .

After meeting the A3 2020 in person and being able to drive it for a little over a hundred kilometers, we assure you that this price does not reduce its perceived quality or elegance. Those interested in this model will be able to choose between the five-door Sportback variant or the sophisticated four-door sedan body. Both are developed from the Volkswagen group’s MQB platform, which is shared by other compacts such as the 2020 Seat León or the eighth-generation Volkswagen Golf.

The Audi A3 accumulates more than five million units sold since its appearance in 1996 . Its design has adapted almost naturally to the demands of a constantly changing market. With the fourth generation, we are faced with an even more sculpted and dynamic A3, with marked and quite aggressive shapes. The hexagonal Singleframe grille is larger than ever and chrome accents emphasize its premium character. The standard LED headlights can be matrix with digital technology and the alloy wheels start in the 16 inches to 19 of the Audi Sport equipment (2,750 euros). The technological equipment is also superior as standard, with the 10.1-inch central and digital instrumentation display .
