Audi e-tron Sportback: Elegance and electric sportiness

Audi began its path to electrification with the e-tron (2019), the first zero-emission model marketed by the brand. The Audi e-tron Sportback is the coupe variant of this SUV , halfway to a Q8 but with more compact dimensions and difficult to pigeonhole in a specific segment. In addition, the brand has taken advantage of the development time to provide it with a higher capacity battery and, therefore, more electrical autonomy. As with the e-tron, it can be purchased in two versions: 50 quattro and 55 quattro . The first of them mounts a 71 kWh battery, so it offers 313 hp and a range of 341 kilometers . The second opts for a 95 kWh battery, which reaches 446 kilometers and provides the engine with 408 hp . The starting price is 75,340 euros, just over two thousand euros different from the same version of the e-tron.

The arrival of electrification has allowed us to experience a remarkable change in the aesthetic standards of vehicles. It is a new era and as such some brands have started innovative projects assembled in completely new bodies . There are groups, such as PSA, that have opted to maintain their range and electrify it, without significant changes. The VAG group, on the other hand, will equip its brands with independent families for the 100% electric variants, such as the Volkswagen IDs or the Audi e-tron. This branch of the family tree must be recognizable through specific elements such as the closed Singleframe grille painted in platinum gray or the 19-inch wheels, more faired than usual. Another characteristic detail in the electric ones is the absence of leaks, solved with a really attractive diffuser in the same platinum tone that we see in the false grille.

Electric propulsion is not a thing of the future, despite the complications that we still encounter in the charging process and the price. Neither is digitization and connectivity , even less so in a premium coupe SUV like the e-tron Sportback. This ahead of its time will bring with it (as standard) the Matrix LED lighting and the MMI touch multifunction system with two central displays and the 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit. In this gallery we tell you much more about the new e-tron Sportback.
