In many areas of the Peninsula, in the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands, there were quite a few days in whichthe thermometers showed very high valueslast August, which determined that some of them exceeded those previously registered in different observatories and that thirty deserved the qualification of“extremely warm”in eight provincial capitals: Cáceres, Badajoz, Jaén, Huelva, Seville, Cádiz, Córdoba and Málaga.
Due to the number of days in which there was significant rainfall, it cannot be said that August was especially rainy, but there were days in which the showers were intense. Specifically, on the 16th they were especially strong or very strong in areas of Andalusia, Extremadura, Castilla La Mancha and the Community of Murcia, with the Cordovan countryside being the most affected area, where more than 200 mm were collected in the municipality of Aguilar de la Frontera ( above 100 in an hour), 135 in Bujalance and 117 in Montilla.
