This tournament is the last Champions Tour event of the year. Not only will a tournament winner be determined, but the Charles Schwab Cup Champion will also be named. The Tour of Champions used to be known as the Seniors Tour.

When is the Charles Schwab Cup Championship Tournament?

This tournament returned to the Valley of the Sun in 2016 and moves to Phoenix in 2017. Dates are Monday, November 6 through Sunday, November 12, 2017. It will be televised on The Golf Channel.

How do I get the tickets?

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.com. Daily tickets and ‘any day’ tickets are sold online and at the door. One-week grounds tickets and tickets to hospitality areas may also be available.

Ticket resale is not permitted on the grounds and in the parking lots.

Are there discounts or ticket offers?

Active duty, reserve, military retirees, their dependents, and non-retired veterans can show valid military ID along with Birdies For the Brave voucher at the tournament for free entry. A $ 1 verification fee will be charged per individual military order.

Where does the tournament take place?

The Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale hosted the event for several years, and in 2017 and 2018 it moved to the Phoenix Country Club near downtown Phoenix. The address is 2901 N. 7th Street, Phoenix. That’s the northeast corner of 7th Street and Thomas Road. Here is an estimate of how long it will take you to drive there.

How to get to Phoenix Country Club

From the South – Take I-10 to the 7th Street Exit. Drive north to Thomas Road.
From the North – Take I-17 to the Grand Ave./Thomas Road exit. Turn left (east) on Thomas Road to 7th Street.

Note: These instructions take you to the Phoenix Country Club, but there may be special parking instructions for the tournament. Check online before getting in the car and driving. Assume there will be a parking fee, so bring cash.

Will Phil Mickelson or Tiger Woods play?

No, they don’t play on the Champions Tour. This tour is for golfers 50 and over. They do not have to be ‘retired’ from the PGA Tour to compete on this tour. The top 30 money winners on the Champions Tour are invited to attend. Some of the names that may be familiar to you if you play golf are Bernhard Langer, Dan Forsman, Tom Watson, Colin Montgomery, Fred Couples, Corey Pavin, Mark Calcavecchia, Kenny Perry, Larry Mize, just to name a few.

There is no cut in this tournament. All 30 players play all four days.

Phoenix Country Club is a private club, so you must be a member or guest of a member in order to play golf there.
