Phoenix Convention Center Map

Phoenix Convention Center is a large facility, expanded in 2008 to triple its original size. It houses the largest ballroom in the state and one of the largest convention center footprints in the country. It is still sometimes known by its old nickname, Phoenix Civic Plaza. In addition to hosting conferences and conventions, there are many public events and trade shows hosted there throughout the year, including bridal shows, home shows, automotive shows, sports experiences, and more. Past events include Presidential Debates, MLB, NBA, NFL, and WWE.

The Phoenix Convention Center was the focal point of the NFL experience during the week leading up to Super Bowl 2015. Regularly scheduled events include:

  • Arizona International Auto Show
  • Phoenix Comicon

Parking lot

You’ll have to find street parking a few blocks away if you want to try and find free parking here (try south of the Phoenix Convention Center, in the more industrial part of downtown). There is a covered garage. Parking fees range from about $ 10 to $ 25, depending on the event and what else is happening in downtown Phoenix at the time. I recommend that you know where the entrance of your event is located in the convention center. South Hall is several blocks from North Hall!

A word about the parking meters: Although there are parking meters near the Phoenix Convention Center, keep in mind that they operate seven days a week, there is no free parking on the meters on weekends or holidays. The meters run from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Time limits vary, but some maximums are only two hours, so check the information on the meter first. Most of the meters in downtown Phoenix now accept credit cards and coins. Still, I always keep about ten dollars worth of quarts in my car, just in case!
