Denmark’s largest city and one of the great European centers of culture, design, ecological awareness and progressive politics, Copenhagen has an extremely well organized and visible GLBT community. The city hosts the impressive Copenhagen Gay Pride in mid-August – this year’s dates are August 16 to August 20, 2016.

Copenhagen Gay Pride comprises a series of events held throughout the city. During the four main days of the celebration, the City Hall Square (at Radhuspladsen and Stroget transforms into Pride Square and hosts concerts, art exhibitions, vendors and more. It is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 am to 11 pm

Copenhagen’s biggest Pride day is Saturday, August 20. At 1pm, the Copenhagen Gay Pride Parade departs from Frederiksberg RÃ¥dhusplads (city hall). Then, throughout the afternoon, the Copenhagen Pride Show takes place.

Other major Pride events in Scandinavia include the Oslo Gay Pride and Helsinki Gay Pride, which take place in June, and the Stockholm Gay Pride, which takes place at the end of July.
