After the many problems of Cyberpunk 2077 and how CD Projekt has tried with little success to weather the storm, the situation could get even worse for the company with the investigation of the country’s consumer office.
As reported by the Polish newspaper Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, the UOKIK would have started an inspection with which it promises to closely follow the evolution of the development. As a result, CD Projekt faces fines of up to 10% of its annual income.
The organization intends not only to monitor the extent to which promises are met with patches , but also how the state of the game evolves on all platforms and how return and claim requests are handled .
The next step for UOKIK will be to wait for CD Projekt’s explanations and, after that, it will decide whether to apply sanctions such as the aforementioned or other types of solutions such as the return of part of the sale price.
They claim that, in addition to the lies towards consumers with messages such as the one that claimed that the game worked ” surprisingly well ” on previous-generation consoles, what happened with Cyberpunk 2077 could be considered unfair competition .
