If there is something negative about video games that are exclusive online, it is that we all know that sooner or later one day we will have to say goodbye to them forever . Gone will be in our memories the tens or hundreds of hours that we could have dedicated to games of this style and in a matter of a few weeks that is something that will be applied with ‘Final Fantasy XI’ .
Square Enix has announced that they will not continue to support the servers of the versions for consoles , that is, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 , which will mean that the final closure of the game in both systems will take place on March 31 .
After the end of next month, the veteran MMORPG published in 2002 will only be able to continue playing on its PC version , since those servers seem to remain active. Unfortunately there is no news on whether there will be any compensation or help for the transfer from one version to another for those who want to continue enjoying the game from April onwards.
On the one hand, Square Enix’s decision in this situation is understandable if we consider that they are more focused on working on more news for ‘Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’. This does not mean that they still keep getting more updates for ‘Final Fantasy XI’, but seen what has been seen who knows until when it will happen.
