The Ford Puma was a declaration of intent for the brand, a significant change in its design language and a quantum leap for the American product. The firm’s models did not stand out for their sophistication or dedication, with somewhat rough interiors and a robust but continuous exterior design. With the new batch of models, the opposite happens, its aesthetics reaches a new level thanks to the harmonious and minimalist lines . An evolution that comes accompanied by greater attention to detail in its cabin and a more digital staging. A new generation of the Ford Kuga arrives to replace the model launched in 2017 . It does so with a very broad engine proposal, electrified options and a starting price of 29,000 euros.
The new Ford Kuga is larger, at 4.63 meters long (8.9 centimeters more), 1.88 meters wide (4.4 cm more) and 1.66 meters high (2 cm less) . Its wheelbase is 2.71 meters, which is 2 more centimeters of margin for the cabin. Its offer will be structured through the Titanium, ST-Line and ST-Line X trim levels, which offer more technological equipment and specific aesthetic details. In addition, the height from the ground is also different, being 19.1 cm for the access finish, 17.8 cm for the ST and 16 for the plug-in hybrid variants. Later will come the most luxurious and exquisite finish: the Ford Kuga Vignale.
No one wants to be absent from the larger SUV segment and the Kuga has many rivals to beat. The most similar models, for value for money, are the Citroën C5 Aircross , the Skoda Kodiaq or the Peugeot 5008 . The main purchase argument of this American will be its wide variety of engines, among which we find a light hybrid version and a plug-in hybrid. The latter offers a combined power of 224 horsepower and, thanks to a 100% electric range of 56 km , it carries the DGT environmental label 0 Emissions (blue) . Another highlight is the greater technological equipment available as standard and a list of options worthy of a premium signature. Ford matures and proves it with each new release.
