You are going to have to forgive us for making you feel old for a moment, but just yesterday, May 26, it was 10 years -no less- since the launch of the first inFamous.
The franchise originally created for Playstation 3 by the Americans Sucker Punch has had three successful installments, respected and loved in general by both critics and public; the last one published five years ago , watch out for that.
To celebrate, and we also imagine that taking a short break from the future Ghost of Tsushima, the studio has shared curiosities and videos on Twitter about the game in its earliest phase, thus showing the enormous evolution from the beginning to its launch.
It is surprising, for example, to know that the inFamous name was not always guaranteed, but that its managers came to mount a trailer with the name “True Hero” in case that title was not approved.
1) The original working title for inFAMOUS was True Hero. We tried out many titles, and even at the E3 2007 reveal we were awaiting legal clearance for “inFAMOUS.” We had a backup trailer ready with an alternate title just in case, but luckily inFAMOUS was approved in time. pic.twitter.com/mqTHhh2jo3

Another detail that did not pass the cut has to do with the protagonist’s clothing: a very colorful superhero costume that we could change for our civilian clothes in any telephone booth, in the purest Superman style.

This shows us that not even Cole MacGrath , a character who ended up being highly valued by fans, was not there from the beginning. What’s more, the possibility came to exist to customize our appearance slightly; and for a long time “Geowulf”, as it was known, showed a different appearance than what it would eventually have.

6) We experimented with light character customization that allowed you to change your hair, outfit, and more. pic.twitter.com/1xyKxXFm0R

We leave for the end what perhaps has given us the most pain, which is the use of powers : several of the shared videos show us much later prototypes that include, among other things, the possibility of skateboarding around the city without the need. board and parkour riding on a motorcycle . The two thousand were like that, what are we going to tell you.

9) We also experimented with the ability to “skate” through the city using an invisible energy field. pic.twitter.com/ukHNWF3gkv
