In an article signed by Nell Frizzell in The Guardian with the headline Why camping is a passion killer, it could be read that there is nothing better than “slipping into a claustrophobic nylon shroud full of foot odor” to end lust , especially in a relationship that is just starting.
The British journalist reasoned that camping is excessively intimate – it reduces personal space for days – unsanitary, uncomfortable and not very erotic . In short, a priori it may seem exciting to lock yourself up with your partner in a tent, but the reality is more prosaic and not aphrodisiac.
But not everyone agrees with this. Many people remember that this vacation option served them to have some of the best sexual experiences of their life . The reasons for defending camper eroticism are also consistent. First of all there is the feeling of detachment from the world . Tents can be claustrophobic habitats, but instead they allow us to sleep in the middle of nature, in a kind of bubble that makes us feel out of civilization.
On the other hand, being in a wild place helps to connect with our most visceral side , with the hormones that push us to be more basic and carnal. It’s easier to get carried away in such an environment to explore deeper sexuality. Lack of comfort and hygiene can compensate. Woody Allen said it: “Sex is dirty. Especially if it is practiced correctly ”. That release of instincts also helps to come out of the closet . Many homosexuals have had their first relationships (see Brokeback Mountain ) thanks to the freedom that comes from being isolated in the middle of nature.
