Deep down, many of us suspected that something like this could happen. Do you remember the time when Sony was said to have paid a dime a dozen to make ‘LA Noire’ a PlayStation 3 exclusive? Well, of course, all that was forgotten when it became a multiplatform game.
Both Xbox 360 and PS3 will receive their version of ‘LA Noire’ but the question was clear for a long time, would they be the same? We already have the answer. No, they won’t. The version for PlayStation 3 will have exclusive content that will not appear on the Microsoft console as confirmed by Rockstar this morning.
Content included directly in the game, no additional downloadable content, no. At least that is what the latest rumors speculate that directly speak of various missions available only on the PS3 Blu-Ray. And of course, one who always wonders things cannot help but say: If the Xbox 360 version has less content … will it be worth cheaper? The content that the PS3 is supposed to have, does it change the story, is it essential or is it just black pudding filler that nobody cares about?
In May we will know for sure and then we will be able to assess the two versions. Meanwhile we can only continue to wonder if this new trend is legal. Look, inside the worst with the exclusives, before some users paid for a game and the others did not even have the possibility to pay for it. What is more twisted now, paying the same, some have more content than others.
And that seems like a joke to me. As they come out at the same price it will be laughter.
