Among the few surprises that the PC Gaming Show conference at E3 2021 left us, we came across the new work by Shiro Games (Northgard), dubbed Wartales . A tactical role-playing video game and medieval setting in which we will enjoy free exploration through its vast world, as in the RPGs of yesteryear.
With a launch scheduled for this year through Steam Early Access, where you can already see its file, it stands out precisely for that mix between SRPG mechanics and the weight of exploration or improvement of the camp.
Because not only can we improve the parameters of our characters, but also the place where they can rest in order to increase their morale and efficiency in combat. And of course, there will also be a crafting and resource collection system, with the possibility of recruiting more unique warriors.
It does not seem that it comes to revolutionize the SRPG genre, but its trailer has seemed quite neat and may end up surprising when it hits the market. For now we do not take our eyes off it and we will follow its development closely, which after all will be launched under Steam Early Access and that means that Shiro Games has work ahead, with (at least) twelve months of development like that.
