Yesterday there was the long-awaited announcement that Sony had promised us and, leaving us all looking silly, they made official a price drop for PS2, instead of PS3 as we all expected.
The reactions of its competitors have not been long in coming and Microsoft has been the first to comment on the move:
“This move by Sony towards the end of the PS2 life cycle is not unexpected.
Despite this, we believe that the future lies in the growth of the current generation of consoles and Xbox 360, the console with the broadest growth of games in the last year, with sales above 80%, will continue to lead the market “
“Xbox 360 has clearly demonstrated that the combination of the right price, popular and widely sold games, as well as the leadership in connection and entertainment through Xbox Live, will continue to meet the needs of today’s consumers.”
I think exactly the same, I do not understand Sony’s strategy, and more knowing that the moment prices drop we will go headlong to buy PS3; but it annoys me that they use any excuse to advertise themselves.
Why will they always comment on the play ending with the phrase “mine is better”? I know that it is a rhetorical question, that the answer is logical, but is it true that if you had only said the first sentence: “We believe that the future lies with the growth of the current generation,” we would have been left with a different taste in our mouths?
And I emphasize, if I were in your position, I would possibly do the same, but since it is not the case, I will comment.
