So far this year, 4,285 100% electric cars have been registered in Spain , which represents an increase of 117% compared to the same period last year. These data show that doubts around electric vehicles are disappearing, and that the buyer is increasingly confident when purchasing a vehicle of this type. Seat, well aware of this, has prepared an electric offensive that begins precisely with the launch of the Mii electric. The firm, based in Martorell, in addition to being committed to vehicles capable of responding to the demands of a constantly evolving market, is also positioning itself towards zero-emission mobility, and what better way than to present its first fully electric model to demonstrate it.
The Mii electric aims to lay the foundations to incorporate new electrified members into the family in the coming months, such as the Seat el-Born or the plug-in hybrid versions of the Tarraco and the León. Under the umbrella of their sports brand, the Cupra Formentor and Cupra León will also have plug-in hybrid variants. Not to mention electric micromobility, which will also play an important role for the company. In fact, the Seat Minimó has already been presented as a prototype that serves as a prelude to a future electric quadricycle.
The own Luca de Meo, president of Seat, indicates that the market is changing . “Electrification is spreading at an unprecedented rate. In Europe, the market for electric vehicles continues to grow and, from now on, our expectation is that electrified vehicles will play an important role within our sector, ”says de Meo. “The Mii electric is the beginning of the road, while also putting an affordable electric car on the market.”
This first electric model will be five-door, will measure 3.56 meters in length and 1.64 meters in width, and will have a trunk capacity of 250 liters. It has a 61 kW motor, which translates to 82 hp, and a battery that can be recharged in various ways. With a 7.2 kW charger it will fill up to 80% in four hours, while a 40 kW fast charging station will do so in just one hour. In addition, Seat will offer personal charging points to all its customers.
