Celebrating New Year’s Eve in London is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Expect fireworks, sold-out club nights, late-night bar events, and lots of fun on the streets. Trafalgar Square used to be the focal point for NYE celebrations in London, but now nothing happens beyond a generally large screen to watch the fireworks on the South Bank. The London Eye has stolen the thunder of the traditional Even New Years in Trafalgar Square and is now the place to be.

Fireworks display
The big event is the London Eye fireworks. It’s a ticketed event and tickets cost £ 10. 100,000 tickets are made available to the general public in September with just four allowed per buyer.
The event begins on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 8:00 pm and officially ends at 12:45 am on the first. The fireworks display begins after the chimes of Big Ben at midnight and the display lasts around 10 minutes.
If you’re looking to see the fireworks but don’t have a ticket, consider heading to Westminster Bridge and the north embankment of the River Thames, opposite the London Eye. These areas are outside the ticketed zone. The fireworks are visible from central London, and are broadcast live on BBC1.
Clubs and bars
Unsurprisingly, London club tickets are more expensive on New Year’s Eve. Also note that pubs often charge an entrance fee to try and control the numbers. It is best to plan ahead and get tickets in advance and come up with a strategy where you want to ring in the new year.
River cruises
A luxurious cruise on the River Thames can be a romantic way to start the new year. Most ships plan to dock within sight of the London Eye fireworks at midnight so you get the best view. Companies that have New Years cruises include Silver Fleet, Bateaux London, and although permanently moored, the RSHispaniola is on Victoria Embankment with a perfect view of fireworks and offers dining, dancing and champagne.
Dining on New Years Eve
