Known as CityRep, the Oklahoma City Repertory Theater has been an important part of the subway theater scene since its founding in 2002 by former Oklahoma City University students. CityRep is an equity Small Professional Theater and a member of the Theater Communications Group and prides itself on presenting cutting edge shows, often productions never seen before in the city. In addition, CityRep collaborates with universities in the area.
CityRep seasons run from late September to late June each year and include a diverse group of shows: award-winning classics and recent ones. Auditions are held for each production.
Tickets
Individual ticket prices for a CityRep production range from $ 30-35, depending on performance time. Discounts are available for students and groups. Flexpasses provide customers with tickets that can be used for any of the performances, and offer significant savings on individual show prices.
CityRep is also a member of the Blue Star Theaters, which means it offers discounted tickets to military personnel and their immediate families. Contact the box office at (405) 848-3761 for more information.
Performance location
CityRep productions are generally held at the CitySpace Theater in the Civic Center Music Hall or the Freede Little Theater. CitySpace is a small black box that seats just 100 customers, while the Freede Little Theater is larger, a proscenium-style facility that seats just under 300.
The Civic Center is located at 201 N. Walker in downtown Oklahoma City, just south of NW 4th.
Parking lot
In addition to the metered parking along the adjacent north and south streets (Couch and Colcord), there are several private pay lots within a couple of blocks from the Civic Center Music Hall.
Auditions and support
Call notices for CityRep auditions are posted on the organization’s Facebook page several months before rehearsals. Character descriptions and audition requirements are provided, and interested actors / actresses are asked to bring a resume and multiple copies of a headshot.
