Phoenix Urban Towns Overview

There are many cities and towns that make up the Greater Phoenix area. To make things even more confusing, the city of Phoenix is divided into defined areas, or urban villages. So is Ahwatukee a city or a town? How about Maryvale? None. They are urban towns in Phoenix. An Urban Village is simply an area of the city that has its own Village Planning Committee that makes recommendations to the City Council on the progress and needs of the area. These are not to be confused with Council Districts.
