Prague Castle Tickets

To enter the Prague Castle, you will have to buy the tickets. Tickets can be purchased within the grounds of Prague Castle at the information centers located in the second and third courtyard of the castle. The map that you get with your tickets will help you navigate the castle grounds and identify the structures for which you have purchased the tickets.

Ticket types

There are several types of tickets to Prague Castle that will allow you to enter groups of buildings within the complex. Three types of tickets allow entry to multiple buildings instead of just exhibits. These are called Circuit A, Circuit B, and Circuit C. Please note that these are tickets for self-guided tours. They do not include the services of a tour guide.

Tickets are valid for two consecutive days. If you buy tickets on the first day and see only part of the castle complex, you can come back the next day to see the rest, which is particularly good for those who want to cram in as much sightseeing as they can while in Prague. Also, remember that entry to the Prague Castle grounds is free, so if you’re hungry or tired in the middle of your tour, you can leave and come back later.

Circuit A Inputs

The ticket for Circuit A includes entry to the Old Royal Palace with the exhibition that traces the history of Prague Castle, St. Vitas Cathedral, St. George’s Basilica, the Golden Lane with the Daliborka Tower, the Rosenburg Palace and the Powder Tower. This is the most expensive ticket, but if you plan to explore the castle complex thoroughly, this is the ticket you want to buy.

Circuit B Tickets

The ticket for Circuit B includes entry to St. Vitas Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace with the exhibition that traces the history of Prague Castle, St. George’s Basilica and Golden Lane with the Daliborka Tower.

Circuit C and other inputs

The ticket for Circuit C includes entry to the Prague Castle Picture Gallery and the exhibition on the treasures of St. Vitas Cathedral.

Tickets for entry to individual structures can also be purchased for: the exhibition The History of Prague Castle in the Old Royal Palace, the Picture Gallery of Prague Castle, the exhibition on the treasures of St. Vitas Cathedral, the Great South Tower and the Tower of Dust.

Discounts on tickets

Discounts are given to students under 26 years old, children from 6 to 16 years old (children under 6 years old have free admission), families with 1-5 children under 16 years old with 1-2 parents and people over 65 years old.

Photo passes

If you want to take photos at Prague Castle, you will need to purchase a photo license. Just make sure to turn off your flash.

Guided tours of Prague castle

You can’t get to Prague Castle expecting to get into a guided tour. Guided tours in the language of your choice must be arranged in advance. However, you can rent the Prague Castle audio guide, which gives you the freedom to explore the castle complex at your leisure.

This grand attraction can seem overwhelming, and seeing all the exhibits and interiors can be exhausting. But having a good plan and energy ready will ensure that you accept that it is one of the best attractions in the city.
