Raids on right-wing extremist groups with insurrection fantasies: weapons found

The police are raiding several federal states. A subversive right-wing extremist group is targeted by the officials.

Berlin – The police carried out raids on Wednesday (October 20, 2021) in a total of four federal states. Their goal: right-wing extremist criminal groups with insurrection fantasies. Specifically, 14 addresses in Schleswig-Holstein, Baden-Würrttemberg, Berlin and Hesse were searched, reports the public prosecutor’s office and the police in Berlin.

In the course of the searches, the officers found weapons, data carriers and devotional objects belonging to the group that called themselves the “Berserker Clan”. There were no arrests during the raids. According to the officials, the police investigations are directed against 15 suspects, prime suspects and alleged ringleaders who live in Berlin.

In the communication between the accused, the preparation for a “day X” played a role again and again, “which is supposed to mean an armed uprising against the existing structures in Germany”. There was also some talk of firearms. The investigation continued.

Now the objects seized during the raids are to be evaluated and forensically examined. The accused are accused of membership and ringleadership in a criminal group with a right-wing extremist background. 130 police officers and a public prosecutor were on duty. (marv)
