Rebecca Reusch case – new details known after camera analysis

Rebecca Reusch from Berlin is still missing. New details on the evaluation of camera images have now become known.

Berlin – She has been missing for over two years: Rebecca Reusch from Berlin. It is one of the best-known cases of missing persons in Germany, and the case keeps making headlines with new details. Nobody knows what happened to the then 15-year-old who disappeared in February 2019. Her mother, however, does not give up hope of finding Rebecca still alive. Now the public prosecutor comes back with new information.

The last trace led to the house of her older sister, where, according to what we know so far, she had spent the night before she disappeared. The next day she was supposed to take the bus to school – but she never got there. The criminal police are investigating in all directions – so far without any clear success. The detectives tried to track down Rebecca Reusch with the help of her cell phone data. The result: After a few last messages to school friends, her cell phone was switched off in her sister’s house. So the location data gave no indication of whether she left the house alive.

Rebecca Reusch is missing – public prosecutor’s office with new details of the investigation

Eyewitnesses first reported seeing the missing woman in the area of a bus stop. These statements have now been put into perspective, as prosecutor Martin Glage told Bild. Because on the recordings of a surveillance camera, which covers exactly the area mentioned, nothing of Rebecca Reusch can be seen on the day of her disappearance. She couldn’t be seen on the video cameras on the buses on her way to school either.

These findings support investigators’ suspicion that Rebecca never left her sister’s house alive. But what happened to the youngster? The police are still groping in the dark. One suspect, the missing person’s brother-in-law, has already been arrested twice. However, there is no evidence of his perpetrator – and then of course the presumption of innocence applies. (spr)
