If one of the most criticized aspects of the latest Nintendo desktop consoles had to be named, it could be the lack of a catalog by third parties . There were not especially few games that each time a new one was announced, it was released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or PC, leaving the Wii completely aside .
However, the company Red Fly Studios has revealed that at the time it was also working on versions of multiplatform games for Wii that in the end did not end up seeing the light of day. To prove it, it has published a series of prototypes belonging to titles such as ‘Batman: Arkham Asylum’, ‘Devil May Cry’, ‘Dig Dug’ or ‘Star Wars: X-Wing vs TIE Fighter’.
From what we see in the videos, in the case of the Batman game it obviously had nothing to do with what ended up going on sale on its rival consoles . Mainly because we insisted that it was nothing more than a prototype, and then also due to the fact that the Wii did not have the same power as Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, for example.
With ‘Devil May Cry’ a similar case occurs, with the difference that this at least does look better and it does not seem that it would have too much development time , since it looks quite complete, even with its own interface. For its part, ‘Dig Dug’ was going to be a remake of the classic arcarde game , with scenarios that would go from a 2D point of view to others in 3D.
Finally, the Wii version of ‘Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter ‘was a prototype based on the game developed by LucasArts for PC in 1997 . A real shame that none of them ended up being finished. Would you have liked to actually see them on Wii?
