Rupert Evans to play Edmund Bridgerton in the series' second season

The character in the Netflix production “Bridgerton” is described as a devoted and faithful husband to his wife, Violet (Ruth Gemmell), as well as a kind and patient father, who was proud to guide his eldest son, Anthony, in the life.

At last, fans will be able to see the patriarch of the Bridgerton clan. Actor Rupert Evans (‘The Man in the High Castle’, ‘Charmed’) will play Edmund Bridgerton , Daphne’s late father, in season two. His appearance in the new episodes will be in flashbacks.

Although the character had been deceased since the beginning of the first season, he was very present in the family’s conversations. In fact, in Netflix fiction, the causes of his death have not yet been explained. In the Julia Quinn novels, it was revealed that Edmund died from a bee sting.

In fact, bees will be an important element in this season. If the adaptation is faithful to the original novel, ‘The Viscount who loved me’ , the young Kate Sharma -inspired by Katherine Sheffield , Anthony’s girlfriend in the role-, will be attacked by these animals, which are one of the main fears of the lord, precisely because of the death of his progenitor (as revealed only in the books, so far).

Edmund is described as a devoted and faithful husband to his wife, Violet (Ruth Gemmell), as well as being a kind and patient father who was proud to guide his oldest son, Anthony, through life.

With the appearance of the missing patriarch of the Bridgertons, it will be time to see how the writers resolve the absence of the Duke of Hastings, since the second season will not feature Regé-Jean Page. On the other hand, fans of the saga eagerly await the Queen Charlotte spin-off.
