Santa's Magical Kingdom in Eureka, Missouri

For the kids in the family, Santa’s Magic Kingdom, along with Six Flags in Eureka, Missouri, is the definition of holiday excitement. If you are driving Interstate 44 past Eureka during the holiday season, this is not to be missed. The popular children’s Christmas light display in Jellystone Park has millions of Christmas lights and dozens of Christmas scenes that stretch for miles.

When to go

Santa’s Magical Kingdom opens every year before Thanksgiving and closes in early January. For the 2017-2018 holiday season, Santa’s Magical Kingdom is open nightly from November 17 to January 7. The exhibit is open from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm Sunday through Thursday, and from 5:30 pm to 11 pm on Friday and Saturday. Santa’s Magical Kingdom is open on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Years Eve.

Train and wagon rides

The Magic Kingdom of Santa Claus is a driving screen, but if you want to see the lights in a different way, take a train or a wagon on the screen. You can buy train or wagon tickets for a single person or groups of nine or less and for groups of 10 or more. Children under the age of 2 can ride for free if they sit on an adult’s lap. Both the train and the wagon board at the Kringle General Store. You can travel by train Monday through Thursday at 5:30 and 6 pm starting in November.

December 20 to 7 only. The wagon rides will take place approximately every half hour every night, the Magic Kingdom of Santa Claus is open; Check the website multiple times on different days.

Besides the lights

There is so much more to see in Santa’s Magic Kingdom than just lights. Kringle’s General Store is full of all kinds of Christmas gifts, toys, and decorations if you want to do some shopping while you’re there. Check out the Snack Shack for a quick bite or a cup of hot cocoa. Visiting Santa in the Magic Kingdom is a more special experience for your children than at the mall, and photos can be taken in Santa’s workshop.

Santa’s Magical Kingdom is located in Jellystone Park, just off Interstate 44 in Eureka, Missouri. Take Interstate 44 to Exit No. 261 and follow the outer road to the park entrance.
