Founded in 1954, the mission of the Spanish Ornithological Society is to conserve biodiversity, with the participation and involvement of society. Its conservation work for wild birds and their habitat, both locally, in Spanish territory, and globally; conducting scientific studies and launching outreach and environmental education have been key aspects in awarding SEO Bird Life with the Environmental Protection Award.
SEO Bird Life works to conserve wild birds and their habitat in Spanish territory, as well as, through BirdLife International, to contribute to the conservation of world biodiversity; and conducts scientific studies to increase knowledge about wild birds and their habitats, in particular as an indispensable tool for their conservation.
In addition, SEO Bird Life has been committed to education and environmental dissemination for more than 20 years through courses, workshops and activities in educational centers.
SEO / BirdLife is the representative organization of BirdLife International in Spain, a federation that groups together the associations dedicated to the conservation of birds from all over the world. It is the largest global organization for the conservation of birds and nature, with representatives in 121 countries and mobilizing approximately 13 million members and supporters around the world.
