Although Rockstar has shown with ‘Grand Theft Auto IV’ and ‘Red Dead Redemption’ that the genre can aspire to more mature moments, we will never disgust a crazy sandbox, one of large-scale explosions and dizzying car races through the streets of any city. ‘Sleeping Dogs’ seems to want to navigate between two waters, with a deeper story but taking up the arcade roots of this type of game.
Much remains to be shown, even more so when the game has several months left to materialize, but a priori what Square Enix offers us seems to fulfill what was promised. After the action trailer with actors shown a couple of months ago, now it is the turn of the game itself, specifically what its 65 vehicles will offer.
If they tell me that it is a racing game I believe it, not one capable of overshadowing the rest but an interesting proposal for, for example, downloadable platforms. But no, running on asphalt or water is just the tip of the iceberg of what Sleeping Dogs will finally offer. The joy after his announcement seems to have reason to continue increasing, so it will be necessary to keep track of it closely.
