Sony closes the old website that allowed access to the PSNs of PS3, PSP and PS Vita: now it can only be done from the consoles

In the absence of official confirmation, the latest information indicates that Sony has decided to close the PSN of PS3, PSP and PS Vita. Everything indicates that this announcement will be made at the end of this month and with the most recent movement of the company, everything points in the same direction.

As reported by Eurogamer, Sony has shelved an old web version that allowed access to the content of these three platforms. In October last year, the company announced that PS3, PS Vita and PSP games could no longer be accessed, both from the web and from the mobile app.

In turn, the wish list was eliminated and all this meant that the only way to continue carrying out these processes would be done from the consoles themselves. Despite everything, an old version of the PlayStation Store was still accessible , with all its functionalities available.

A page in limbo that now no longer works, according to reports from the media. If we try to enter it, the only thing we will find is the following error message and a redirection to the new web store , which only grants access to PS4 and PS5 content.

In this way, if we want to buy DLC, games, avatars, themes or other types of content, we will have to do it from the PS3, PS Vita and PSP themselves . We’ll see if the information from TheGamer, which signaled July 2 as the beginning of the end for older PSNs, is finally confirmed, even on consoles.

What is confirmed by Sony is that it will definitively close the rental and purchase service for movies or series. This closure will arrive in August.
