One of lime and another of sand. If the contents of ‘Gran Turismo Sport’, the first installment of the saga on PS4, were recently expanded, now it’s time to announce the farewell to the online functionalities of its latest installment for the last generation: the ‘Gran Turismo 6’ servers will close the next March.
In fact, it is about a discontinuation of online services that will take place in two phases : on the one hand, as of January 31 of next year it will no longer be possible to purchase digital content through PSN, while on March 28 Online modes such as community, lobbies, Quick Match mode, and seasonal events will cease.
In addition, the ‘GT6 Track Path Editor’ App for iOS and Android tablets that allows creating tracks for Gran Turismo 6 will no longer be distributed once the servers are closed. What’s more, from that date on we will no longer be able to transfer our custom tracks to the game.

Of course, we must bear in mind that both the offline proposal of ‘Gran Turismo 6’ can be played normally on PS3 , as well as any content downloaded from the game, although as discussed in the official blog, it is a great moment to redeem any credits we have earned in the game before it is too late .

‘Gran Turismo 6’ was released in December 2013 with a PS4 that had barely been on the market for a couple of months, although it is not the only PS3 title endorsed by Sony that will cease its online services during those dates: the ‘Killzone servers 2 ‘and’ Killzone 3 ‘will close their doors in March 2018 and shortly before so will the From Software classic’ Demon’s Souls’.
