Sooner Mall in Norman, Oklahoma originally opened in 1976 and then underwent an $ 8 million expansion and remodel in the late 1980s. Operated by General Growth Properties, the same company that runs Quail Springs Mall on the north side of the metro, Sooner Mall is one of the major closed shopping centers in the Oklahoma City area. In addition to many of the major national chain stores, Sooner Mall features local stores, a playground, multiple restaurants, ample open parking, and more.

Sooner Mall is located just west of I-35 on Main Street in the southern Oklahoma City community of Norman. From I-35, exit west on Main Street, and the mall is on the north side of the street.

Restaurants and eating areas are scattered around the Sooner Mall. On the west side, you’ll find El Chico, Great American Cookies, Villa Pizza, and Subway, while the east side has Chick-fil-A, China Max, and Auntie Anne’s Pretzels.
If you have kids, don’t forget to visit the play area towards the northeast side of the mall near Old Navy. In addition, there is a Get Air Trampoline Park near Sears, a great option for a birthday party or just for the little ones to take advantage of some of the energy. The large facility features a basketball court, ninja field, swing ladder, children’s area, and much more.
And during the holiday season, Sooner Mall is one of the places to see Santa in the Oklahoma City metro.
Gift cards and services
Sooner Mall gift cards, for use where American Express is accepted, are available for purchase online. The funds never expire, but there is a small purchase fee.
The mall’s management office on the northeast side has stroller and wheelchair rentals, and security escorts are also available on request.
