"The Disney Devil Wears Prada", the first reactions to "Cruella"

Cruella is the film that narrates the construction of how this evil villain became the number 1 enemy of all Disney-loving animalistic associations. Emma Stone picks up the witness from Glenn Close, who already donned the fur coat in the 1996 live action film. This origin story is set in London in 1970 under the artistic rise of punk, which gained vital importance in British culture. Some North American critics have already been able to see the film, and the first impressions are being very flattering, praising repeatedly both its aesthetics and the film’s soundtrack. A bit of Cruella’s problem stems from getting the public to empathize with a character, that in the future he will want to create a shelter at the expense of some poor Dalmatian puppies. That’s the same thing that seems to have bothered Ian Sandwell for Digital Spy: “There are questionable things with Cruella’s backstory that make it difficult to match up with the villain we hate to love.” Sandwell then added, “Anyone who is concerned about the need for an origin story for Cruella de Vil will find things to be frustrated with, but there’s no denying that she has serious style and incredible wardrobe.” The comparison to “The Devil Wears Prada »One of the most repeated comparisons has been with the 2000 film directed by David Frankel, The Devil Wears Prada. Erik Davis of the horror magazine Fandango described the film as “Disney’s Devil Wears Prada” and Joel Meares of Rotten Tomatoes described more thoroughly “The Devil Wears Prada Meets Witches and Becomes Death.”Eric Italiano was more energetic via Twitter mentioning the possibilities of Cruella’s film at the Academy Awards: “Rating Cruella as great is not hyperbolic, because she is great. It is incredibly directed and elaborate. I wouldn’t be surprised if it garnered Oscar nominations for best production and costume design.
