Ready for a laugh? Get to know the funniest and most humorous side of the animal kingdom with the best works of the photographic contest that this year celebrates its seventh edition: the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2021.
These awards were founded by Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam, both professional photographers and passionate conservationists, along with the Save Wild Orangutans organization.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on October 22 of this year. Apart from the winners, the contest also grants the People’s Choice Award to the image most voted by the public through its website. And it is that, nature can be beautiful and majestic, but sometimes, also hilarious. The final 42 images include a host of hilarious characters from the natural world, including polar bears, grumpy birds, and an extremely goofy dragonfly.
This year’s finalists feature animals in comical moments captured by photographers from around the world. And, in addition to offering a joyous contribution to these moments in which we live, the contest also aims to highlight the important message of wildlife conservation in an attractive and positive way.
“The sheer number of images we receive each year illustrates the appetite for engaging in conservation and reminds us that wildlife is truly amazing and fun and that we must do everything we can to protect it,” Joynson-Hicks said in the statement. press. “Narrowing down the list of photos was more difficult than ever this year,” added Sullam. “It was great to see a variety of animals, from the incredibly rare to the lowly pigeons.”
Approximately 10% of the total net proceeds from this year’s photo contest will be donated to Save Wild Orangutans , an organization that works with primates in Gunung Palung National Park, Borneo.
