The pros and cons of buying an SUV

Why are SUVs succeeding? You don’t have to be an engine connoisseur to see that SUVs surround us. In these last four years, sales of SUVs ( Sport Utility Vehicle ) have multiplied, and are present in all segments.

Its enormous versatility is part of its success. It is a type of vehicle that accompanies you in the mornings to take the children to school, when we go to the supermarket, in an elegant dinner … But, in addition, it gives drivers something that we did not have with minivans : power and elegance.

SUVs are larger cars, which have the highest point of gravity. However, we have learned to drive SUVs and manufacturers have developed very safe and reliable cars, which can accompany us in our day to day.

The negative part is that, being a heavier car, we pollute more. However, you also have the electric option. In addition, it needs more maintenance, and it will cost us more, for example, to change a wheel.

What if I can’t afford a large car? The SUV market was consolidated by offering a large number of offers: a vehicle for day to day, even with traction, and up to the needs.

If SUVs or cargo vehicles do not convince us, the ideal alternative, then, is a 21st century family car. Not so long ago, a family car was a development of a saloon (orthopedic cars, mixes of various models). But today, the family car is a very aesthetic and practical option.

In our neighbor Portugal, the family car was already a very recurring option, long before it arrived in Spain.

And as in Spain we always have a slight delay, we are going to talk about a term that will sound familiar to you very soon: the shooting brake (cargo space with a sports line); It is for the most ambitious, who need a cargo car, but do not want to lose the sporty line. The shooting brakes are cars that are born from the family, and that look for a way to the coupe (with the rear finished down).

Looking for a car with load capacity, the shooting brake does not sacrifice ride quality, comfort and versatility.

There are two cars with two shooting brakes on the market (which is not the same as the sports family); there are few options yet. But, pay attention! Because many will arrive shortly.
