Choosing the baby’s name is a very thoughtful decision by parents for months. But that was not the case for a couple from Greenville, South Carolina, who, although they had already decided, something made them change their minds at the last minute. They expected a girl for September 3, but a few weeks earlier and she was born on August 21 , just a few hours before the solar eclipse occurred, the astronomical event of the year that, precisely in the state where the girl was born, could be seen in full.
Guess what name they gave it? Yes, you have deduced correctly. On the way to the hospital, the parents decided that if the girl was born that day they would honor the phenomenon. She was born at 8:04 in the morning and they named her Eclipse Alizabeth Eubanks .
On Monday, the whole world, and especially millions of Americans, were watching the sky. The couple’s original plan was to call her Violet , but they became dazed by the eclipse and changed their minds.
That day, eleven other babies were born at the same hospital, Greenville Memorial Hospital, who were given cute souvenir bodies.
