Troop the color, the queen's birthday parade

Trooping The Color is an annual event in June to celebrate the Queen’s birthday.

Tickets for the booths seated around Horse Guards Parade are allocated per ballot with a maximum of 4 tickets per applicant for the Queen’s Birthday Parade. At one point, the request for the ballot was done by mail, but now it can be done easily online.

Tickets for the two Reviews (which are virtually identical to the Queen’s Birthday Parade, minus Her Majesty’s presence) are available to purchase in bulk without a ballot.

There are a limited number of wheelchair spaces available for all three parades.

Dates and prices of the 2018 event

  • Queen’s Birthday Parade: June 9; Seated tickets cost £ 35 (about $ 45) each (tickets are per ballot; selected applicants will be informed in March); Wheelchair tickets are £ 35 (about $ 45) each, 2 tickets max and come with one free caretaker ticket per wheelchair ticket. Stand-up tickets cost £ 2 (about $ 3) each.
  • The Colonel’s Review: June 2; Tickets are £ 10 (about $ 13) each
  • Major General’s Review: May 26; Tickets are £ 5 (about $ 7) each
